– The following error message during the nesting workflow – ‘Inventor failed to open the document…’ means either the file type is incompatible or the file was saved in a newer version of the product.
– There might be inconsistent value and missing units on the Process Material Library dialog in Japanese language pack
– When changing the Material usage method from “Best Size” to “As Listed”, the “Best Size” might not respect the “Inventory QTY” limits
– The material name of components might be changed while reading sources. (Workaround to fix this issue: go to Manage -> styles and Standards -> Purge)
– When modifying Source QTY in Nest Properties the view in Canvas might not be updated
– There is no possibility of creating Nesting for generated child files when editing them directly
– When multiple versions of Nesting are installed on a given computer, launching Inventor will use the most recently installed version of Nesting. For example, first install Nesting 2023 on Inventor 2023, then install Nesting 2024 – both Nesting 2024 and Nesting 2023 will exist. Launching Inventor 2023 will use Nesting 2024. If want to use Nesting 2023, need to uninstall previous Nesting 2023 and reinstall Nesting 2023.
– if open inest file get “Some source files are missing”, please resolve the missing source files, then resave it and then next time open the inest file will work well.
– Nest doesn’t support Inventor Model States.
– Sources command crashes Inventor for certain files.
– If Decimal symbol is “,” and Digit grouping symbol is “.” then HTML Nest Reports created are black.
– The context menu disappears when right clicking the column header in the assembly BOM or open from Vault dialog.
– Check-in source file under Vault tab in iNest file failed, please open source file, check-in to Vault, or open Vault application to check-in the source file.
– If launching Vault from Inventor fails, please launch Vault directly.
– Adding the same shape but with different parameters to the Edit Nest dialog is not allowed.
– Check-in of an INEST file will be blocked if its source IAM or IPT file is not checked in.
– If translation fails with the message “Problems encountered while saving the document”, go to “C:ProgramDataAutodeskInventor Nesting 2022(or 2023/or 2024 depends on the version you are using)Sources” and remove any unnecessary files.
– Some tables and graphs in the Example-template-full report template are empty. Use the default template (automatically loaded) instead.
– Cannot author a sketch containing a spline.
– Creating a 3D Model of a sheet as an assembly leaves invisible documents behind in memory. Use File > Close all to close these lingering documents.
– Turning on the Rotate 90, 180, 270 values for a nest has no effect if these rotate parameters are turned off in the nest’s material definition.
– In the Create New File dialog box, only one template might be shown. Browse to the appropriate language folder to see all available templates.
– Multiple contours in DXF files will be treated as a single shape for nesting.
– Material and unit of the IPT source file cannot be modified in Inventor Nesting and therefore must be set in the IPT file itself. When you delete a material used by an IPT source file, you need to re-extract shapes from the IPT to restore the material.
– CSV export does not currently support field separators within values.
– To avoid read-only messages, be sure to start AutoCAD prior to opening a DXF source file from within Inventor Nesting (this is standard AutoCAD behavior).
– The 3D Model command sometimes misses the external boundary of some nested parts.
– Warning and error messages displayed during shape extraction and nesting are not localized.
– Splines in a DXF file are only extracted after conversion to polylines by first saving the DXF file in R12 format.
– Changing the default INEST template unit doesn’t work.
– Layer names cannot contain spaces.
– Localization is not supported when editing configuration files for layer extraction.
– Undo and Redo might not always work as expected.
– In 3D Detailed/Compare View, switch configuration file, then re-extract source file, INV crash when Update command running.
Inventor Nestingsoftware which is integrated withinInventor Professionalturns sheet metal parts into nesting tables. The nesting of components is thus associatively possible, as is a faster calculation of sheet metal components and assemblies. By optimising the nest table, companies reduce raw material costs and can compare nesting studies to better understand cost and choose the right nesting study.
