MagiCAD Group has released MagiCAD 2022 for Revit and AutoCAD. The new version presents advanced tools and features for a new level of accuracy and intelligence in MEP design. MagiCAD 2022 supports the latest Autodesk platforms Revit 2022 and AutoCAD 2022.
MagiCAD 2022 brings extensive new functionality for MEP design in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD environments enabling MEP designers to produce work that is highly accurate and easily adaptable for further uses.
MagiCAD 2022 for Revithelps improve design accuracy and quality with multiple new additions. A new Segment Adjustment tool provides exceptional control with precise definitions of distances and offsets when moving multiple segments. Design accuracy is also improved with the introduction of new gender types for duct fittings and generic distribution boxes for ventilation systems, while simultaneously enabling more realistic designs for installation purposes.
The new version also impacts the daily design workflows of MEP designers. Users can combine drainage products and install them as a combination, download pre-configured pipe and drainage series from the MagiCAD Cloud online service, and customise the running index logic in a model according to index area rows. MagiCAD 2022 also provides numerous enhancements to popular tools, including clash checking, provisions for builderswork openings, and connection nodes, as well as functionalities to set up and use national classification systems in projects.
1. Change pipe series for existing networks
Piping
Sometimes changes to piping criteria (material, cost etc.) require designers to change the entire pipe series mid-project when many pipe networks have already been modelled. Implementing these changes to completed pipe networks is a very time-consuming operation that risks issues with network connectivity or lost information.
The Change Property function now makes it easy to change the pipe series for an existing network without losing any critical parameter information. A mapping function allows you to link size options between the source and target series, ensuring a correct replacement for each item in the series.
2. Generic air handling units
Ventilation
The new Generic AHU feature allows you to create generic air handling units (AHU) to help with early design phases where detailed system design is not needed. The generic air handling units can be used as placeholders to ensure sufficient space for the equipment in technical rooms and enable effective early planning of ventilation systems. Simply type in the air handling unit size and select connection placements and sizes. If needed, you can also add equipment, pressure drop, and flow information to the unit. The created units can be later edited as the system is developed further.
You can also create an Excel export of all the technical information of the created air handling units in order to communicate equipment needs to manufacturers for pricing or production time estimates.
